Firstly, always have a budget in mind for any trip, and then add a rainy day fund to that budget, for extra insurance and contingencies. Then, I always suggest planning out a few days. You don't have to plan each day hour by hour, but if there are things you can pay for ahead of time that's less time you have to spend worrying about paying for it on your trip.

Planning Your Trip

It is important to know your travel methods each day. especially when traveling out of the country. Google Maps give you the option to pin and even download directions. That way, if you have a spotty wifi connection you will already have the info on your phone. This saved me a lot going country to country in the same day.

Most importantly traveling should be fun. NOT STRESSFUL!

Exploring new places and cultures gets my creative juices flowing and makes me just want to know all I can about the people around me. Just let go and enjoy the small things. You might surprise yourself!
